In Icaraizinho de Amontada, a preserved fishing village in northeastern Brazil, we rent out houses — designed for travelers who want a roof of their own, not a hotel room.

The project grew out of the same need our guests have: a place that's truly yours — somewhere to cook, lounge by the pool, dry the kite gear on the terrace, and end the day around a churrasco without watching the clock. Casa Guarani (4 bedrooms), Casinha Guarani (2 bedrooms), Casa Eva (2 bedrooms) and Studio Guarani (1 bedroom): independent houses, each with its own character, all under five minutes' walk from the beach and from the bay's three kitesurf and wingfoil clubs.

We host you directly, with no Booking or Airbnb in the middle: a better rate for you, a real connection for us. Welcome to Icaraí!

The most generous of our houses: 4 air-conditioned bedrooms, a large living-kitchen opening onto the garden, a private pool framed by bougainvillea, a welcoming terrace with an Argentinian-style grill, and a lush garden. Designed for an extended family or a group of friends (up to 9 people), it's also the perfect stage for an evening churrasco after a kite session. Icaraizinho de Amontada

A preserved fishing village in the north of Ceará, now one of the three major kitesurf spots in the world — and it hasn't lost any of its soul. White sand, shifting dunes, coconut palms, and wind that blows from June to February.

The kitesurf spot

Icaraizinho sits, no debate, in the global top 5 for kitesurfing and windsurfing. The thermal wind of northeastern Brazil (the famous trade winds, alizés) blows from June to February with almost statistical reliability: locals routinely talk about 300 wind days a year on the Ceará coast — a figure to verify for your specific window, but local experience backs up the legend.

The bay offers three conditions within the same stretch: flat water close to the shore at low tide for freestyle, learning waves further out, perfect for progressing in strapless, and a legendary downwind toward Preá or Jericoacoara. Three schools in the bay, gear rentals available all season.

When to come

The wind season runs from July to December, peaking in September–October (gusts up to 30 knots). If you're coming for advanced kiting, aim for August–November.

Outside the wind season, from March to May, the sea calms down — a great window for families, swimming, SUP, dune buggy rides and offshore fishing. The climate is steady year-round: 27–30°C, never winter. The rainy season (March–April–May) stays gentle: short showers early in the day.

How to get here

International flight to Fortaleza (FOR), then a 2h30 drive to Icaraí de Amontada. Best option: a private transfer (4x4 or regular taxi), booked in advance — we can connect you with our trusted drivers.

Alternatives: rent a car at the airport, or take the bus to Amontada and then a minibus to the village. A daily bus from the Fortaleza terminal serves Amontada.

What to do nearby

Beyond kitesurfing, wingfoiling and windsurfing, Icaraizinho opens onto a wide range of activities: horseback rides on the beach at sunset, buggy trips into the dunes to the freshwater lagoons, Stand Up Paddle through the preserved mangroves, and day trips to Jericoacoara (1h45 by 4x4).

In the village: fresh fish restaurants, beachside açaí, little shops and a local craft market. And in the evening, the lively village square with its kiosks of traditional dishes.

Icaraizinho is about a 2h30 drive from Fortaleza international airport (FOR). The easiest option is to book a private transfer (4x4 or regular taxi) — we can arrange one for you. Alternatives: rent a car at the airport, or take the daily Fortaleza–Amontada bus and then a minibus to the village.
